Each Hungarian university operates on a biannual semester system. Transfer students’ academic standing and previously earned credits significantly influence the admissions process.

Upon arrival, transfer students are kindly requested to submit all necessary original documentation:

• Original Academic Transcripts from previously attended institutions. These must be Apostilled or legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the issuing country, as well as the Hungarian Embassy in that country.
• School Certificates detailing the subjects studied, grades achieved, and marks received. These must also be Apostilled or legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the issuing country, as well as the Hungarian Embassy in that country.
• International Passport (Travel Document)

The aforementioned documents are submitted to the Hungarian Ministry of Education to complete the equivalence and certification process, as well as to evaluate any academic discrepancies. Upon approval of the prior qualification by the Ministry of Education, the student will be issued a Certificate of Eligibility, allowing them to enroll in the chosen top-up year.

If the documents are rejected, the candidate must enroll in the appropriate level of study as determined by the Ministry of Education’s regulations.

During the admissions application phase, candidates may submit scanned copies of their academic transcripts via email. However, it is mandatory to present the original transcripts, authenticated by the Hungarian Embassy and attested by the respective countries’ Ministries of Foreign Affairs.

6. OFFER LETTER:

Once we have received the Initial Processing Fee of €400, it takes 1 week to process the Offer Letter.

Applicants who have met the university’s admission standards for their selected program will get an official Conditional Offer outlining the program, payment, and deadline. Please remember that just because you have a conditional letter does not mean you may apply for a visa to enter Hungary.

To convert your Conditional Offer letter into a Final Acceptance Letter, you must pay the first year’s tuition and certain minor costs (such as health insurance and accommodation deposit).

7. FINAL ACCEPTANCE LETTER: PAY YOUR TUITION FEE TO THE UNIVERSITY

To receive the Final Acceptance Letter, candidates are kindly requested to remit the tuition fee for the first academic year or the first semester (in addition to the tuition fee, we recommend that candidates pay at least 2 months’ accommodation fee). Please note that universities often have a limited number of dormitory spaces, so we kindly request you to promptly inform us upon the issuance of your visa.

Upon successful transfer of the required tuition fee, you will be provided with The Final Acceptance Letter online. Once you receive your Final Acceptance Letter, proceed to apply for a D-type visa (student visa) at the nearest Hungarian Embassy. HUNGARIAN STUDENT VISA REQUIREMENTS

• Applicant’s Passport and a copy (with a minimum validity of 1 year);
• A completed visa application form (type D visa, also known as “residence permit for studies”). This form can be downloaded from the official website of the Office of Immigration and Nationality:

• Proof of paid tuition fees (and 2 months’ accommodation if paid);
• Evidence of accommodation in Hungary (provided by the university);
• For Bachelor’s Degree applicants: Higher Secondary School Certificate (WAEC/NECO/A LEVEL/AS LEVEL/IGCSE) or any equivalent certificate—legalized by the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the applicant’s country;
• For Master’s Degree applicants: Bachelor’s Degree and Transcripts—legalized by the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the applicant’s country;
• For PhD level applicants: Master’s Degree and Transcripts—legalized by the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the applicant’s country;
• Travel Insurance with a coverage of 35 days;
• Bank Statement from the parent or guardian for the past six months. Notarized summarized statement from the respective bank showing the balance in Euros or Dollars;
• Letter from the employer of the parent or guardian;
• Notarized Sponsorship Letter from the parent or guardian stating their commitment to financially support the student during their education in Hungary;
• Proof of sufficient funds from the Sponsor, who must have adequate means of subsistence and be able to cover any costs incurred by the student related to healthcare, accommodation in Hungary, and repatriation for at least one academic year. The Sponsor must have a steady income;
• Evidence of the relationship between the student and the sponsor;
• Applicable visa fee in EUR;

9. ADMINISTRATIVE and SERVICE FEES: AFTER STUDY VISA

Upon successful acquisition of the study visa for Poland, a mandatory administrative and service fee of €700 must be settled post-issuance.

It includes Airport Reception, Transportation to the University with our staff, Registration at the University and different Hungarian offices, assistance in processing Health Insurance, assistance in visa extension processing & issuance of a Temporary Resident Card valid for all years of study, and assistance opening a bank account at Hungarian Bank.

Please be advised that the aforementioned services and airport reception incur a €700 charge, which must be settled in advance from your country of origin.

10. MEET N GREET: ARRIVAL IN HUNGARY

Upon your arrival, a European Study Services representative will be present at the airport to welcome you and accompany you to your designated accommodations. We will efficiently handle all essential documentation until the start of your studies and the issuance of your residency card.

Kindly be informed that you will have a 30-day window to convert your visa into a residence permit in Hungary. However, to initiate this process, you must be officially enrolled in your selected institution. Therefore, it is strongly advised that you refrain from arriving in Hungary significantly earlier than your enrolment date, as it may jeopardize your right to remain in the country. The most suitable time to arrive would be 2-3 weeks prior to the commencement of your studies.
